BECS WAITE, LICSW
Licensed Relationship Therapist in Massachusetts, Florida and Vermont
Hello! I’m Becs and I’m so glad you’re here.
Most folks begin therapy with me because they feel stuck in unhelpful patterns of communicating, they struggle to feel understood or supported in their relationship, and they want to navigate conflict and challenging emotions with greater ease. I support queer, gender expansive, neurodiverse, and polyamorous and non-monogamous couples, polycules and other relationship structures. I also specialize in working with parents/stepparents (or “stepcouples”) who are navigating stepfamily dynamics.
I truly enjoy working with intimate partners and providing guidance to them as they navigate towards the change they want to see in their relationship and within themselves. I came to this work because of my own lived experience as a non-monogamous, queer, neurodivergent, non-binary stepparent and human. I am also inspired and humbled by this work and by the moments in life when connection between people is made even when- or especially when- it is painful, scary and hard.
What an amazing thing to witness and be a part of! And I get to see it every day!
I use a therapeutic framework in our sessions called the Developmental Model that helps foster curiosity, encourages self-discovery, and deepens intimacy and understanding of one another. This model is most helpful for folks who are trying to find a balance between autonomy and connection with others.
I am an Advanced Level Developmental Model therapist and I have received specialized training in supporting queer and nonmonogamous relationships from the Queer Relationship Institute. I am also an AANE-certified Neurodiverse Couples Therapist. In addition to these certifications, I have also received training in the Gottman Method, EFT, and IFS/IFIO, and I use elements of these approaches in my work with clients.
I know finding a good fit with a relationship therapist is the most important piece of the puzzle and I want you to feel confident in choosing to work with me, so if you’re curious about my work, my approach or if I can help you, please reach out to schedule a free consultation: Becs@ThisSpaceBetween.com
